Cassina

Cassina ha sempre rappresentato il futuro in un rapporto intrinseco tra architettura e interior design

back

Cassina, now part of the Poltrona Frau Group, is among the ancient Italian design furniture and furnishing companies, with a very special history and designers who place it among the most interesting companies for research, quality, and rigor.
It has seen great designers who have made the history of Made in Italy pass on their design desks: Andra Branzi, Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, Rodolfo Dordoni, Mario Bellini, and the greatest of all time architects: Gio Ponti. All these great designers have worked for the company that has seen the birth of true style ideals as well as design projects.

Cassina should also be remembered for a work of rediscovery and revaluation of objects designed by great masters such as Le Corbusier, Rietveld and Frank Lloyd Wright, which are still produced by the company today. There are many objects that have received awards such as the Compasso D’oro.

An inexhaustible source of style that has turned into a made in Cassina exhibition, curated in every detail by Giampiero Bosoni. The intent is to tell a piece of Italian Design history. A journey through the history of the company among the pieces that have marked important moments, which have given a decisive turn to the image of Cassina in the world.

The soul of this company is a perfect combination of tradition and careful study of new materials to be tested.
The pieces exhibited can boast a strong soul that is not bent and set aside by the fashions of the moment, and in a certain sense they have become immortal in the history of Design: Il Bruco and the Cab by Bellini, the Zig Zag by Rietveld, the Feltri by Gaetano Pesce and Starck’s Privè are a testimony of historical events and emotions that make Made in Italy unique in the world.
